GENERAL MEETING DATES

2017: January 23; March 27; May 29; September 25; October 23 (Nominations for Officers & Executive); November 27 (Election of Officers & Executive).

ALL MEMBERS ARE WELCOME BUT THEY MUST HAVE THEIR CURRENT MEMBERSHIP CARD TO SHOW THE SGT-AT-ARMS AT THE DOOR.

2018  MEMBERSHIP CARDS AVAILABLE

There is a new membership card system starting this year. When you receive your 2018 Membership Card it will be PLASTIC – like a credit or ID card. On the back will be a place to put the renewal stickers when you pay your membership!

E-MAIL ADDRESSES

EVERY YEAR WE ASK YOU TO UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION

OUR SECRETARY AND MEMBERSHIP 1ST VICE PRESIDENT HAVE SEEN FAR TOO MANY

“NO CHANGES”

Sorry Members, but in far too many instances we have found people have not only changed their addresses but also their Phone numbers and E-mail addresses.

Out of the first 10 sheets the Secretary received 8 -YES – 8 required changes to our records!

And members complain that we are not keeping them up-to-date with what is going on!

Do you realize that to hold a Special General Meeting we have to notify EVERY MEMBER of the meeting and why it is being called. Do you ALSO realize that to do that to our over 600 members by mail it would  cost a minimum of $0.85 a MEMBER or over $500.00!

SO MEMBERS, WHEN YOU RENEW:

PLEASE update your phone, email and address. A recent count of E-mail addresses showed that we have less than 150 E-mail addresses but over 600 members! We do not give out E-mail addresses to anybody. Having them available when we must send out meeting and activity notices would save us $0.85 a member at Canada Post. PLUS the paper, envelopes and the stuffing of envelopes – so please help us to keep our costs down. The bar has the paper information slips just for this purpose, so next time you are in. . . . . . .

DO IT!

PLEASE DON’T WRITE – “NO CHANGE!”

Kapich?

Don’t miss your opportunity to keep the many benefits of your Legion membership.

For 2018 renew your membership by the Early Bird deadline – November 30th and  you will:

·         Keep your account in good standing

·         Maintain years of continuous service

·         Support the Branch and its programs

AND get in the draw for 1 of 3-paid-for memberships for being an “Early Bird!”

Encourage a friend or family member to join, too! Every member makes a difference. Don’t forget you need a proposer and a seconder from existing Branch Members followed by approval from the Branch Executive Committee.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
